SWOGUN Nepal [Society for Women Guidelines Nepal] is a non-profit organization established in 1999. The primary mission of Swogun is to improve the living standards of impoverished communities located in remote areas of Nepal, and through our training programs we provide people with equipment and skills allowing them to create an income on their own.

Our Solar Aid program provides electricity to schools, libraries, Buddhist monasteries, health posts and community groups. Our environmentally friendly solar energy systems help to improve the quality of people's lives and allow them to manufacture handcrafts in their own leisure.. night and day.

In our second phase we launch various volunteer based programs such as: Environmental Protection, Health Concern, English Teaching and Nature Photo Journalism.

The average Nepalese income is less than 40 USD a month and Swogun is working very hard to help raise the living standards of the poor people of Nepal. But as a non-profit organization we do have very limited resources. We are mainly assisted by foreign volunteers who have joined our programs and we depend entirely on personal donations and active voluntary help.
We are also searching for major sponsors that would bring funds to our organization. This will give us the opportunity to meet our goals efficiently and effectively.
If you feel you can help - either by volunteering or through a donation, your input would be gratefully appreciated.
