Swogun Nepal was registered in
1999 as a non-governmental social organization though
the joint efforts of young and energetic people from
the office of the District Administration of Kathmandu
as well as from the Social Welfare Council. Swogun's
main objective is to solve the growing problem of
Nepal by empowering youth, women, local clubs, schools,
village development committees and co-operatives with
skills and ways to enhance their social development.
We also work with other NGOs and INGOs, who assist
us in this huge project.
At present, Swogun has 7 founder
members, 22 executive members, 52 members, and national
and international advisers.
Nepal itself is a beautiful country, but in global
terms, it is still severely impoverished. With limited
basic needs and its fragmented social infrastructure,
it is still one of the most underdeveloped countries
in the world, where many Nepalese are still deprived
of electricity, health education, environmental awareness,
clean drinking water and education. Moreover, most
people are still untrained and unskilled on any practical
level.
Although it's an uphill struggle
we at Swogun Nepal are dedicated to achieving positive
results, which can begin to bring Nepal up to a social
standard that will encourage self-worth amongst its
citizens. By providing basic needs and education,
this is the key to our success.
OUR MISSION IS:
- To make solar light and modified
smokeless stoves available in rural areas.
- To create awareness about environmental
issues and sanitation.
- To make the public aware about
health matters and to provide health education.
- To provide English language
teaching in rural schools.
- To provide logistical support
to run sewing, cutting and netting trainings.
- To establish a central charity
hospital for the deprived people of Kavre, Sindhuli
and Ramechhap Districts.
- To create income generating
programs for women.
- To produce Nature photo Journalist

Nepal is a very underdeveloped country,
and the majority of Nepalese people, particularly
in rural areas, are deprived of electricity, medical
services, education and a clean environment.
Precious forests are being destroyed day by day, because
people have no options but to use wood from trees
for fuel and light. Of course, this is bad news for
our country and the environment since it increases
pollution and in turn, people suffer due to poor health.
In the 21st century, it may seem unbelievable to the
western world that places such as Nepal don't have
basic utilities like electricity, health posts and
proper schooling etc. But ironically, one positive
aspect of this delay towards modern-day conveniences
means that Nepal now has the reason and opportunity
to move forward using new, cleaner technology. Through
Swogun Nepal, renewable energy, along with their other
projects such as medical and educational services,
means that targets can and must be reached for the
sake of the country's future stability.
Your donation will help these targets
become a long-term reality.
